I think I'm going to finally make the switch from Sendmail to qmail. I don't claim to know Sendmail, but I've spent enough hours being sodomized by it that I at least know it in the biblical sense. I'm reluctant to change even though I believe qmail is a better solution. I know I'm in for at least a little more reaming till I have it doing my bidding. Fortunately, I found a guide for gentoo that should make installation a bit easier. What is pushing the move is a desire for better spam filtering/rejection. I'm leaning towards TMDA for whitelisting. I've got spamassassin, rbl checks, plus a few other things currently enabled and I'm still seeing 10 or so spams slip through per day. My wife is getting way more spam and she wants me to do something about it.
