After another 7 hours of tweaking, I have the DVD player working on my HTPC. Sure it worked pretty much from the get-go, but it wasn't as good as it could be. I now have videophile grade DVD playback... although at this point I'd have to take someone else's word for it, because my eyes are so bleary I can hardly tell. At some point I should probably document my setup. Most of the time invested so far was piecing together all the necessary bits of info from various forums, webpages, and trial and error. I've found nothing that was adequately documented. I'd be happier if I didn't know how much work I have yet to do, to make things easy to use. That is going to be the real trick.
