I bought a Gyration Ultra GT compact wireless keyboard and mouse about 2 weeks ago. It looked like the perfect solution for controling my HTPC from my couch. Problem was that I could not get the first one to work at all. I was aware of a batch of faulty receivers, and sure enough I got one. Disappointed, but still in need of a keyboard, I took it back to CompUSA to try another. That one was a dud too. I hate buying stuff from CompUSA (crappy exchange/refund policies, and extremely high prices on small items.) Now thoroughly dissappointed I checked Gyrations website in hope of a remedy. I was pleased to see they were taking a proactive stance in fixing this problem. All I needed to do was to fill out a form with the serial number and a shipping address and a new receiver was on it's way. It arrived today. I plugged it in, and it just worked. It's fantastic! The mouse can be used on a surface as an optical mouse, or in mid-air thanks to some nifty built in gyros. It's now so much more pleasant to deal with my system. Sure UltraVNC and Remote Desktop are cool, but they are worthless the moment you need to do anything that has heavy demands with graphics... which is pretty much the whole point of a home theatre PC. The only problem is that I sorta need my glasses to comftably read text on the TV.
