I can't help but feel that I'm wasting my life away whenever I'm in front of my TV. So I have a really hard time explaining just how much time I've invested in making my TV better. My plans to watch F1 last sunday while Deb was out were dashed... my Tivo for some reason failed to record the race. I started fooling around with my HTPC when I noticed that the convergence on the TV could use some adjusting. 5 hours later I had bunch of string taped across the TV forming a 90mm x 80mm grid, which I used as a guide to reset the screen geometry and then set the convergence. I was so bleary eyed when I finished it was hard to evaluate the difference. Still the effect is pretty obvious. The picture is amazingly sharp, and the geometry is nearly perfect.
