The local train wasn't much slower than the limited express train I waited two hours to catch on the way out... not that I complaining. The trip worked out better than I expected. The aso train finally limped in to Komagawa at 7:20pm. I correctly surmised there would be a connecting Tsubame train bound for Hakata along very shortly. I wasted know time getting to the reservation office. For some reason the Arrivals/Depatures board in these offices never display in english... yeah, I know I'm in Japan, but all the other electronic message boards cycle through English every 20 seconds or so. However, although I don't know any Kanji I'm getting good at deciphering them anyway based on patterns (They list the trains by their final destinations. I know Hakata is one terminus, and I thing the other is Kagoshima-chuo, knowing that the one name was a lot longer I guessed which was the Hakata board. Easy.) It looked like the next Hakata bound train was in 5 minutes, with a 50 minute wait till the one after that. So in line I dug out my coin locker key, and decided to postpone my pee break until I was on the train. I'm now on the 7:30pm to Hakata. I had two minutes to spare.
