Coming home from Miami,FL into the aftermath of a snowstorm was a bit of a shock. I had procrastinated when it came to putting snow tires on the truck, and I got to regret the decision. I nearly got stuck on a flat city road (5th in Shadyside.) I have extensive winter driving experience, but I have rarely seen conditions so shitty, especially on hevily travled urban roads. I stopped at the first autoparts store I found, and ponied up for 4 40lb bags of oil-sorb. The additional weight in the bed transformed the truck. I was truly surprised by the difference. Coming home I was faced with nearly 9" of snow in the driveway. I began to wonder why am I still dealing with this... I have just about every power tool a reasonable person could own, Why not a snow blower? So I researched for the better part of the day, and into the evening. I kicked the tires of the remaining snowblower stock in town, but just couldn't pull the trigger. No model/design seemed to be the right fit. Either too wimpy, or to big, or too expensive. I finally decided there are better ways to spend nearly that money. Hell, if it snows a lot I'll just work from home. Only about 80 more days of real winter left anyway.
